Finials are one of the biggest key elements in your overall drapery hardware treatment. That is unless you prefer the minimal look and just prefer end caps. Either way they are both relevant to the overall window treatment. Always take into consideration that the rod length does not include the curtain rod finial and allowances will need to be made for that. If you are going wall to wall with your curtain rod and you will be adding a finial, give yourself a one inch clearance on each end.
